Deine Ruhe verdient Vertrauen. Hier steht ehrlich, welche Daten Nalani verarbeitet, wo, wofür und welche Rechte du hast. Stand: Oktober 2026.

2. Nalani ist eine KI

Nalani, deine Gesprächspartnerin in der App, ist eine künstliche Intelligenz. Ihre Stimme ist künstlich erzeugt. Audio-Sessions, Rückfragen, Sätze und Einblicke entstehen automatisiert durch KI. Es gibt keine automatisierten Entscheidungen mit rechtlicher Wirkung für dich.

3. Welche Daten wir verarbeiten

Konto: Beim ersten Start legen wir ein Konto ohne E-Mail an. Sicherst du es, kommen deine E-Mail-Adresse bzw. die Daten hinzu, die du bei „Mit Apple“ oder „Mit Google“ freigibst. Passwörter werden nur verschlüsselt gespeichert.

Name: dein Vorname und, wenn du willst, wie er ausgesprochen wird, damit Nalani dich ansprechen kann.

Was du erzählst: deine Check-ins, Gespräche mit Nalani und Tagebuch-Einträge, gesprochen oder getippt. Diese Inhalte können zeigen, wie es dir geht, und gelten deshalb als Gesundheitsdaten.

Sprachaufnahmen beim Check-in: Die Aufnahme wird zur Umwandlung in Text an ElevenLabs gesendet und danach auf deinem Gerät gelöscht.

Live-Gespräche mit Nalani: Dein Ton wird während des Gesprächs live an ElevenLabs übertragen. Dort ist für Nalani eingestellt: keine Aufzeichnung, Audio und Abschrift werden nicht aufbewahrt. Die Abschrift, die du in der App siehst, bleibt auf deinem Gerät.

Audio-Sessions: Titel, Sätze und die erzeugten Audiodateien werden in deinem Konto gespeichert, damit du sie erneut hören kannst.

Sicherung: dein Verlauf, deine Check-in-Antworten und die Tage, an denen du gehört hast, werden in deinem Konto gesichert, damit sie auf einem neuen Gerät wieder da sind.

Auf deinem Gerät gespeichert, nicht bei uns: Tagebuch, Nalanis Gedächtnis (Profil → „Was Nalani sich merkt“, dort einsehbar und löschbar), Einblicke, Einstellungen und Widgets. Teile davon gehen als Hintergrund in deine Gespräche und Audio-Sessions.

iCloud-Sync: Solange er an ist (Profil → Datenschutz & Sicherheit), liegen Tagebuch, Nalanis Gedächtnis, Verlauf, Check-ins, Profil und deine Tage zusätzlich Ende-zu-Ende verschlüsselt in deiner privaten iCloud bei Apple, damit sie auf deinen Geräten gleich sind. Lesen kann sie nur dein Apple Account, wir haben keinen Zugriff. Du kannst ihn ausschalten und die Kopie in iCloud löschen.

Optional, nur wenn du es erlaubst: Kalender (für das Tages-Briefing; mit „Nalani kennt deinen Tag“ gehen morgens die Anzahl deiner Termine und höchstens drei kurze Stichworte an Nalani, nie Notizen oder Teilnehmer), Schlaf aus Apple Health (nur die Schlafdauer der letzten Nacht, für das Morgengespräch), offene Erinnerungen (nur Anzahl und höchstens zwei kurze Stichworte), Standort (nur für das Wetter: über Apple WeatherKit, ersatzweise über Open-Meteo mit auf etwa einen Kilometer gerundetem Standort) und Apple Health zum Eintragen von Achtsamkeitsminuten.

Käufe: laufen über Apple. Die App schickt unserem Server den von Apple signierten Kaufbeleg mit, damit er prüfen kann, ob dein Abo aktiv ist. Für die faire Nutzung speichern wir davon nur eine nicht umkehrbar verschlüsselte Kennung und die Anzahl deiner Anfragen, nie Zahlungsdaten.

4. Wofür und auf welcher Grundlage

Wir verarbeiten deine Daten nur, um Nalani bereitzustellen: Konto, Gespräche mit Nalani, deine persönlichen Audio-Sessions, Sätze, Einblicke und Erinnerungen.

Vertrag (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO) für Konto, App und Abo.

Deine ausdrückliche Einwilligung (Art. 9 Abs. 2 lit. a DSGVO) für alles, was Rückschlüsse auf deine Gesundheit zulassen kann. Du gibst sie vor dem ersten Gespräch, wir speichern Datum und Version. Du kannst sie jederzeit mit Wirkung für die Zukunft widerrufen: Profil → Einwilligung. Ohne sie kann Nalani nicht zuhören.

Deine Einwilligung (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO) für Kalender, Standort, Apple Health und Mitteilungen. Du steuerst sie in der App und in den iOS-Einstellungen.

5. Wer deine Daten verarbeitet

Wir setzen sorgfältig ausgewählte Auftragsverarbeiter ein, mit denen Verträge zur Auftragsverarbeitung bestehen:

Supabase Inc. (USA): Konto, Datenbank, Dateispeicher und Server-Funktionen. Gespeichert wird in einem Rechenzentrum in Irland (EU), die Server-Funktionen laufen ebenfalls dort.

Anthropic PBC (USA): das KI-Modell Claude. Es schreibt deine Audio-Sessions, Rückfragen, Sätze und Einblicke und ist Nalanis Sprachmodell im Live-Gespräch. Verarbeitung in den USA. Anthropic nutzt diese Inhalte nicht zum Training und löscht sie in der Regel nach spätestens 30 Tagen; länger nur, wenn ein Verstoß gegen Nutzungsrichtlinien geprüft wird.

Eleven Labs Inc. (USA): Stimme (Text zu Sprache), Spracherkennung und das Live-Gespräch mit Nalani. Verarbeitung in den USA. Wir haben der Nutzung unserer Inhalte für das Training widersprochen.

Apple: Anmeldung mit Apple, App Store und Abo, Wetter (WeatherKit), Mitteilungen.

Open-Meteo (Schweiz): nur ersatzweise für das Wetter, wenn WeatherKit nicht antwortet; übermittelt wird der auf etwa einen Kilometer gerundete Standort, ohne Konto oder Kennung.

Google: nur wenn du dich mit Google anmeldest.

Übermittlungen in die USA erfolgen auf Grundlage der EU-Standardvertragsklauseln (Art. 46 DSGVO) und, soweit der Anbieter zertifiziert ist, des EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 DSGVO).

6. Keine Werbung, kein Tracking

Nalani enthält keine Werbung, keine Tracking- oder Analyse-SDKs und verkauft keine Daten. Es werden keine Profile zu Werbezwecken gebildet.

7. Speicherdauer und Löschung

Konto, Audio-Sessions und Sicherung bleiben gespeichert, solange dein Konto besteht. Check-in-Aufnahmen werden nach der Umwandlung in Text gelöscht, Live-Gespräche bei ElevenLabs nicht aufbewahrt.

Du kannst dein Konto jederzeit selbst löschen: Profil → „Konto und Daten löschen“. Dabei löschen wir sofort deine Audio-Sessions, Audiodateien, die Sicherung und dein Konto auf dem Server sowie alle Daten der App auf deinem Gerät. Sicherungskopien unseres Hosters werden in dessen regulärem Zyklus überschrieben. Ein laufendes Abo kündigst du in den iOS-Einstellungen.

8. Sicherheit

Alle Verbindungen sind verschlüsselt (TLS), gespeicherte Daten ebenfalls. Zugriffsregeln in der Datenbank sorgen dafür, dass nur du deine Daten siehst. Deine Anmeldung liegt im iOS-Schlüsselbund. Schlüssel zu KI- und Sprachdiensten liegen nur auf dem Server, nie in der App.

9. Deine Rechte

Du hast das Recht auf Auskunft (Art. 15 DSGVO), Berichtigung (Art. 16), Löschung (Art. 17), Einschränkung der Verarbeitung (Art. 18), Datenübertragbarkeit (Art. 20), Widerspruch (Art. 21) und Widerruf deiner Einwilligungen (Art. 7 Abs. 3). Schreib uns dafür an die oben genannte Adresse. Du kannst dich außerdem bei einer Aufsichtsbehörde beschweren, zum Beispiel beim Landesbeauftragten für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg.

10. Keine Therapie

Nalani ist kein Medizinprodukt und keine Therapie. Wenn es dir akut schlecht geht: TelefonSeelsorge 0800 111 0 111 oder 0800 111 0 222 (kostenlos, rund um die Uhr), im Notfall 112.

11. Mitteilungen

Erinnerungen (Morgen, Abend, Streak-Schutz, Ende der Testphase) sind lokale Mitteilungen deines Geräts. Sie brauchen deine Zustimmung in iOS und lassen sich jederzeit abschalten.

12. Mindestalter

Nalani richtet sich an Personen ab 16 Jahren.

13. Änderungen

Wir passen diese Erklärung an, wenn sich die App oder die Rechtslage ändert. Über wesentliche Änderungen informieren wir dich in der App; wo nötig, fragen wir erneut nach deiner Einwilligung.

App privacy policy

Your calm deserves trust. Here is, honestly, what data Nalani processes, where, what for, and which rights you have. As of October 2026.

1. Controller

2. Nalani is an AI

Nalani, your conversation partner in the app, is an artificial intelligence. Her voice is generated. Audio sessions, follow-up questions, words and insights are created automatically by AI. No automated decisions with legal effect are made about you.

3. What data we process

Account: on first launch we create an account without an email address. If you secure it, your email address or the data you share via “Continue with Apple” or “Continue with Google” is added. Passwords are only stored encrypted.

Name: your first name and, if you like, how it's pronounced, so Nalani can address you.

What you share: your check-ins, conversations with Nalani and journal entries, spoken or typed. This content can show how you're doing and therefore counts as health data.

Check-in recordings: the recording is sent to ElevenLabs to be turned into text and is then deleted from your device.

Live conversations with Nalani: your voice is streamed live to ElevenLabs during the conversation. Nalani is set up there with no recording, and neither audio nor transcript is retained. The transcript you see in the app stays on your device.

Audio sessions: titles, words and the generated audio files are stored in your account so you can listen again.

Backup: your history, your check-in answers and the days you listened are backed up in your account so they're back on a new device.

Stored on your device, not with us: journal, Nalani's memory (Profile → “What Nalani remembers”, viewable and deletable there), insights, settings and widgets. Parts of it go into your conversations and audio sessions as background.

iCloud sync: while it's on (Profile → Privacy & security), your journal, Nalani's memory, history, check-ins, profile and listening days are also kept end-to-end encrypted in your private iCloud at Apple, so they're the same on all your devices. Only your Apple Account can read them; we have no access. You can turn it off and delete the copy in iCloud.

Optional, only if you allow it: calendar (for the daily briefing; with “Nalani knows your day” the number of your appointments and at most three short keywords go to Nalani in the morning, never notes or attendees), sleep from Apple Health (only last night's sleep duration, for the morning conversation), open reminders (only their number and at most two short keywords), location (only for the weather: via Apple WeatherKit, or as a fallback via Open-Meteo with your location rounded to about one kilometre) and Apple Health for logging mindful minutes.

Purchases: handled by Apple. The app sends our server Apple's signed receipt so it can check that your subscription is active. For fair use we keep only a one-way encrypted identifier and the number of your requests, never payment details.

4. Purposes and legal bases

We process your data only to provide Nalani: your account, conversations with Nalani, your personal audio sessions, words, insights and reminders.

Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for account, app and subscription.

Your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR) for anything that may reveal information about your health. You give it before your first conversation; we store its date and version. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future: Profile → Consent. Without it, Nalani can't listen.

Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for calendar, location, Apple Health and notifications. You control these in the app and in iOS Settings.

5. Who processes your data

We use carefully selected processors with data processing agreements in place:

Supabase Inc. (USA): account, database, file storage and server functions. Data is stored in a data center in Ireland (EU), and the server functions run there too.

Anthropic PBC (USA): the AI model Claude. It writes your audio sessions, follow-up questions, words and insights, and is Nalani's language model in live conversations. Processing in the USA. Anthropic doesn't use this content for training and usually deletes it within 30 days at the latest; longer only while a possible usage-policy violation is reviewed.

Eleven Labs Inc. (USA): voice (text to speech), speech recognition and the live conversation with Nalani. Processing in the USA. We have opted out of our content being used for training.

Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store and subscription, weather (WeatherKit), notifications.

Open-Meteo (Switzerland): only as a fallback for the weather when WeatherKit doesn't answer; it receives your location rounded to about one kilometre, without an account or identifier.

Google: only if you sign in with Google.

Transfers to the USA are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR) and, where the provider is certified, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR).

6. No ads, no tracking

Nalani contains no advertising, no tracking or analytics SDKs, and doesn't sell any data. No profiles are created for advertising purposes.

7. Retention and deletion

Your account, audio sessions and backup are kept as long as your account exists. Check-in recordings are deleted once they've been turned into text, and live conversations are not retained at ElevenLabs.

You can delete your account yourself at any time: Profile → “Delete account and data”. We then immediately delete your audio sessions, audio files, backup and account on the server, and all of the app's data on your device. Backups at our host are overwritten in its regular cycle. Cancel a running subscription in iOS Settings.

8. Security

All connections are encrypted (TLS), and so is stored data. Access rules in the database make sure only you can see your data. Your sign-in is kept in the iOS Keychain. Keys for AI and voice services live only on the server, never in the app.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), objection (Art. 21) and to withdraw your consents (Art. 7(3)). Just write to the address above. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg.

10. Not therapy

Nalani is not a medical device and not therapy. If you're in acute distress: TelefonSeelsorge 0800 111 0 111 or 0800 111 0 222 (Germany, free, 24/7), in an emergency 112. Outside Germany, call your local emergency number.

11. Notifications

Reminders (morning, evening, streak protection, end of trial) are local notifications on your device. They need your permission in iOS and can be turned off at any time.

12. Minimum age

Nalani is intended for people aged 16 and over.

13. Changes

We update this policy when the app or the law changes. We'll let you know about material changes in the app and, where needed, ask for your consent again.
